In terms of news, it was reported that on December 26, Kingboard Laminates issued a price increase notice, stating that due to soaring copper prices and tight supply of glass cloth, all material prices would be uniformly increased by 10% effective immediately as a result of cost pressures. Notably, Kingboard Laminates has raised prices multiple times this year. On August 15, Kingboard announced a comprehensive price increase for its CCL products, raising each sheet by CNY 10. On December 1, Kingboard issued another price adjustment announcement citing significant increases in copper, glass cloth, and chemical raw material costs, raising prices for CEM-1/22F/V0/HB products by 5% and FR-4 and PP products by 10%.
A research report by Guojin Securities pointed out that strong AI demand coupled with rising upstream raw material costs is expected to sustain price increases for copper-clad laminates. Robust AI demand is driving both price and volume increases in PCBs, with many AI-PCB companies currently operating at full capacity and undergoing significant expansion efforts. High growth in performance is expected to continue into the fourth quarter and next year. Demand for AI copper-clad laminates also remains robust, and leading mainland manufacturers are likely to benefit significantly given the slow expansion of overseas copper-clad laminate production.
